Step 1:
First, you need to sign up for a Chatterbox. (If you already have a Chatterbox, skip to step 2.) Sign up by going here, and filling out a few things about yourself. Click "gimme"
, and if you filled it all in OK, you will get a page with some HTML
code in a text box. Select all that code with your mouse, and copy it
to the clipboard (Ctrl + C, or right-click and select "Copy" from the menu). Skip to step 3.
Step 2:
You need to get the code for your existing Chatterbox. Go to the Chatterbox edit page,
and log in with your Chatterbox ID and password. One of the things you
will see on the next page, will be some HTML code in a text box. Select
all that code with your mouse, and copy it to the clipboard (Ctrl + C, or right-click and select "Copy" from the menu).
Step 3:
Go to your Xanga page. If you are not yet logged in to Xanga, you will need to log in now.
Step 4:
On the left side of the page, find the "Look & feel" link under the "Edit" heading. Click it to go to the "Look and feel of your site" page.
Step 5:
TIP:
We often get asked how you set the title of your Chatterbox.
The answer is simple - it's the "Title" box of the
Javascript module on your Look and feel page!
Step 6:
Scroll to the bottom of the look and feel page, and click "Save Changes"
to go back to your Xanga page. You should now see your Chatterbox on
the left side of your Xanga page. If you do not, make sure you followed
the steps of this guide carefully and exactly.
Step 7 (Optional):
Now that you have Chatterbox all set up, you can go over to the edit page to customize it. Chatterbox does its best to fit your page without any tweaking, but there's always room for improvement... The edit page lets you change your timezone, layout, colors, smiley settings and more! Plus, if you ever lose your Chatterbox code, you can get it again there.
Did It Work?
If you still have problems, go submit a trouble report,
making sure to including your public Xanga page address
(remember, we can't see pages that have "private" in the URL), and what the problem is,
and we'll try to help you.
